Galvanoformarea: Sperietoarea Proteticii Supraimplantare

Three Treatment Options for Severely Edentulous Atrophic Maxillae and Mandible

Dr. Alejandro Vivas-Rojo

Bone augmentation procedure, vertical and horizontal, and non-grafting solution (zygomatic implant) application - are presented in this lecture.

Poor bone quality and insufficient bone volume due to critical bone atrophy in the anterior or posterior maxillae are addressed as the main factors contribute to the failure of dental implant system.

The rationales behind each treatment option or different technics are discussed and compared for a better understanding.

This lecture placed an emphasis on the use of zygomatic implants, a high focus is given to this section covering the specification of zygomatic implants, advantages and disadvantages, indications and contraindications of treatment.

This lecture, provides sufficient information on the treatment of patient with severely atrophic posterior maxillae/mandible specifically via the use of grafting (Different approach) and non-grafting procedure in both fields, clinical and scientific based evidence.

The BOXTECHNIQUE: Vertical Aesthetically Guided Bone Regeneration with Polylactic Acid - “Clinical Approach and 7 Years of Follow Up”

Dr. Andrea Menoni

The BoxTechnique is the first prosthetically and aesthetically guided bone regenerative technique that allows to regenerate bone in the three space dimensions by using only absorbable materials which are processed naturally by the body. This revulutionary technique does not require any autologous bone grafting and reduces surgical trauma and sessions compared to the other bone regenerative techniques.

Cortical Autogenous Bone Tenting Technique

Conf. Univ. Dr. Horia Barbu

Objective: Three dimensional resorption of the post-extractional site after tooth loss can lead to severe atrophies of the residual ridge.

Planning an appropriate implanto-prosthetic treatment from the functional and esthetic rehabilitation point of view, narrows considerably implant placement without prior augmentation.

Materials and methods
There are different types of bone grafting techniques which work best in comparison with traditional augmentation techniques.

Using ultrasonic surgery we can harvest bone blocks intra-oral from the zygomatic buttress, mandibular body, mandibular ramus, symphysis or lateral wall of the sinus.

Results
Intra-oral harvesting of veneer cortical block grafts in addition with the sandwich augmentation has better results than the cortico-cancelous bone blocks, obtaining a faster integration of the graft, with less morbidity and reduced risks.

Conclusion
Increasing success in oral implantology is influenced, in addition to surgical experience, by the quality of materials and instruments used.

Modern Approach of Full Arch Immediate Loading

Dr. Alain Simonpieri

According to the evidence based, the calculation of success rate is only based on osseointegration. Although these prosthetics are osseointegrated, they are not aesthetics and sources of numerous complications: prosthetics, bone and gingiva.

Why is there so many failures in IL on long term? Which protocol to adopt in order to avoid them? What are the conditions to obtain favorable bone and gingival evolution during the time?

“The Formwork” In The Surgical Reconstruction Of Jaw Bones

Dr. Dan Gheorghe

The surgical regeneration/reconstruction/augmentation of the jaw bones, in order to be predictable and successful, has to be performed in strict accordance with few Biological Principles, as well as with some basic Surgical Principles. Among these, having/building a “formwork” is of utmost importance.

Using clinical cases, it will be analyzed various modalities of “formwork building”, along with their advantages and limits.

Implants - When and Why? About Decisions....

Dr. Iustina Verdeș

Implants, Aesthetics, Biology.... In the end we want Functionality for the Cranio Mandibular System and Quality of Life for the Patient. What do these words actually mean? We get attached to "Concepts of Functionality" and we act accordingly. Therefore, the "Perspective" is important. Where and Why and Whether to "love" implants?

A conversation about planning and strategizing from a Rehabilitation Perspective.

Preservation and Regeneration of the Buccal Plate of Bone with Immediate Socket Placement - Part 1.

Dr. Dennis P. Tarnow

Immediate placements of implants into extraction sockets is an exciting treatment alternative for our patients. However, there are many potential short and particularly long term risks which the practitioner must be fully aware of. This presentation will focus on the potential problems and benefits both clinically and biologically when the choice of immediate socket placement is made for single and multiple sites.

Upon completion of this presentation participants should be able to:

• Identify what type of healing takes place against the implant in immediate socket placement
• Know how to minimize recession with immediate provisionalization
• Know the proper crown contour for immediate provisionals
• Know if the gap distance really matters
• Know if primary closure should be attempted or should it be left open?
• Know if membranes should be utilized?
• Know what type of graft material if any should be utilized?
• Identify what are the potential short and long term risks involved with immediate placement of implants?

Prosthodontic Strategies for Preserving Soft Tissue Architecture Around Single Tooth Immediate Implants in the Aesthetic Zone - Part 1.

Dr. Stephen J. Chu

Implant dentistry is continuously evolving offering new and more predictable forms of therapy with minimally invasive protocols. Innovative techniques now allow for better esthetics, decreased treatment times, and greater patient comfort. However, these new techniques and therapies continue to raise questions and concerns regarding the risk and rewards of each. Specifically, controversial issues regarding immediate postextraction socket implant placement in relationship to survival and esthetic outcomes. Immediate provisional restoration of immediate implants placed into healed [delayed] or augmented sites will be presented.

In addition, this lecture will address current concepts [i.e. platform switching], techniques, clinical research, histologic evidence, and innovations in immediate implant placement and provisional restoration and how they can enhance treatment procedures, time, and clinical outcomes for greater patient comfort, care, and satisfaction.

After this presentation, the attendee should be able to understand the following concepts associated with immediate implant placement and provisional restoration:
1. The prosthetic and biologic impact on peri-implant soft tissue thickness
2. Tissue discoloration
3. Abutment selection criteria
4. Results of SDNY Dentium study
